Charge TTi looking used but sold as new

Anyone else notice this? Hard to tell but some scuffs here and there, nothing wrong but some scuffs here and there leading me to believe it may not be new.
 
guess thats why you shouldn't drink and post! To clarify, did anyone else thats bought a new charge notice anything similar? I don't really care that much since its basically going to get abused anyway. Just wondering.
 
I've read some reviews from Amazon that the knives purchased from the site occasionally appeared used or refurbished.
 
oh ok, appreciate it. The marks/scuffs do appear in kind of random places so makes sense it could be a production or factory thing.

Yeah, I've sometimes wondered about that. Over years, there have been a fair number of complaints that supposedly new Leatherman products appear to have been used. Maybe they have come from a source that has taken back customer returns but instead of recovering from the manufacturer, which might be impossible if they are not authorized dealers, just recycles them to another customer.

I have had that experience with an on line seller, who sent me a "new" Leatherman Super Tool 300 in a package that had obviously been opened and the nylon sheath cut in the process. In this case, it worked out. The ST might have been handled, but apparently never used, so it was okay with me, and when I contacted the vendor about the sheath, we came to a fair adjustment.

But I will say this; for a good long time now, I have been buying stuff on line from many different sellers, some large or small companies, and many individuals. I've yet to be burned.
 
I got one same way, but it's also like some other people where saying, that a few look like they've been used even though they're sold as brand new sealed in box. Cosmetics, says I. As long as it functions as would be expected, I don't care much about the looks. Mind you, it's goona look worse after you put it to actual work. Hell, I work as a unit clerk and student nurse in a hospital and you wouldn't believe the uses i find for it, so the Charge gets banged around quite a bit. Then there's the dings it takes when I'm on the trails....
