Hey guys. Few questions...
Okay, just bought a Leatherman Charge tti a couple days ago. Now that i got to play with it, i noticed it came with a black plastic bit holder, that holds different size bits.
#1. Well, it has 10 slots, and only 6 have bits in them, and i don't think I lost anything from the package.
#2. is this supposed to have removeable wire cutter bits? Mine doesn't look like it does.
#3. And, it doesn't say Titanium anywhere on the tool. Is this right? It says S30V steel for the knife. But the package said tti, thats what caught my attention. On the handles it says Charge.

Did i get ripped off? Or is this what i should have?
Btw, i think my girl already threw out the package, so i don't have it anymore. Here is some pics.

Here's a pic of my TTi, I think you're ok as far as it being a legit TTi

Mine came with two sets of tools though and a removable pocket clip

Here's the kit I got

It looks like they sell kits with less attachments like yours though as well.
I don't think you got ripped, you just got a lesser kit.

Mine only came with 6 bits as well, but I've had it since the Charge first came out. I bought a Bit Kit and pack 20 bits with it now. As far as the Ti, only the scales are titanium, nothing else. And, no, the Charge does not have removable wire cutters like the MUT. The Charge is a great tool, and you should get many years of good service from it.

I believe everything is perfectly normal. I think the regular package with just the tool had only some of the bits included, don't believe the handle has any markings (easy enough to check online though) and pretty sure there shouldn't be removable wire cutter blades.

As for being ripped off, I guess it depends on how much you paid. Though it seems everything is how it should be. Great tool btw. I passed up a deal on a used one a long time ago and really missed out. Still love my Charge AL though.

You'll love it. If you don't already have the pocket clip, get one. It's only $5. I'm not really a pouch guy, and the external one-hand blade doesn't leave me wanting another knife when I have this in my pocket.

Ok great! Any ideas where I can buy more bits?
Oh, and I have the pocket clip too!

There's also a long sleeve on the pouch, maybe for a pen or fire steel? Any ideas?

Thanks again for all the help.
Dave

Btw, I paid 80 bucks for it new from a friend, but the package said $144.

The base package should have the LM Charge TTi, the bit holder with 6 2 ended bits, detachable lanyard ring, and detachable pocket clip.
No cutters. Only the SuperTool 300, Rebar, and Mut have them.
The handle scales are titanium.

You can get extra bits at Amazon. Do a search for:
Leatherman 931014 40-Bit Assortment for Leatherman Bit Drivers
You can also get a bit extension (very, very useful), also at Amazon. Do a search for:
Leatherman 931009 Bit Driver Extension

So that's what the sleeve in the pouch is for? Pretty cool.
Thanks!
I agree, I almost don't want to carry this, as I'm a knife guy, and I really don't need to carry another blade when I have this. It's definitely a great new toy!!
Dave

Oh, and how do you guys carry the bits? Separately? Because the pouch has a extra pocket for a bit holder, but not 2 holders for the 40 bits? Maybe just keep the important ones and leave the rest at home?
Thanks, I'm real curious now!

I keep mine in my truck. It's usually everywhere I am, so the Leatherman and kit are never far away.

This is what I currently have/use when I'm at work. The case is a Maxpedition Single Sheath. The included bit kit that came with the Charge TTi is stored with the multitool while in the sheath.

I recently had the prybar conveniently included to the kit.

The Bit Kit used to have the case included with it. Now LM sell the Bit Kit and the Bit Kit case separately. I bought both, along with the Bit Extension.

This is the setup when it's altogether. It's not necessarily pocketable like this; it's usually in my backpack or work bag like this. When I edc, it's usually with the multitool only with the pocketclip.

Rankor. I have the same prybar and it is a pretty useful tool. Sadly I have no clue where I'd buy one, the one I have was my grandfather's. Good setup though, though cover a ton of bases.

I think I got it at Lowes on sale for less than $10. It was part of a mini pry bar 2 pack, Task Force being the brand I think.

Yes on the bit extension.:thumbup::thumbup: Leatherman should sell them with any pliers that have changeable bits.

I looked through the twenty bits and picked ten that looked most useful for me and carried them in one card.

Later I had a pouch made with room for both bit cards, bit extension, small flashlight, ferro rod, and stuff. It even has room for the multitool.
