I chased the brown truck down a day last week and got my Leatherman charge from New Graham's. I love the pocket clip. It feels more like carrying a large folder. I wish more multi-tools offered the pocket clips. The blades are very easy to open with the cut outs. mine will see some pocket carry time forsure. I think mine is the XTI in black. Do you old hands have anything to say about the charge? So far I like it, but no real hard use yet. I still have a Super tool and use it some.
thanks for looking guys.

i don't know if i'm an old hand, but i like my Charge Ti a lot. the bit driver has come in handy quite a bit

Just picked up my new charge ti an hour ago :) So far it's nice! Both the charge and new wave are scads better than the old wave.

Ok, one gripe so far. The Charge "premium" leather case is horrible! The nice nylon case that comes with the wave 2004 is much better. In addition to being overly stiff, it doesn't button if you slip the bit kit into the bit kit pocket. In the wave '04 case I could fit all this junk PLUS an inova x1... Nothin' doin' with the leather case.

Since the charge is less volume than my BM rukus, I'm just clipping it to my pocket for now. At home I have the leatherman case with AAA maglite holder, the case that came with the old school tool adapter and a normal gunshow nylon sheath.

Ideally I'll find something that I can horizontal carry with bit kit, LM Charge ti and an arclight aaa-p.

Any suggestions?

I got mine when they first came out and replaced the leather case with the nylon case for the charge and have had no problems at all. It's done everything I've asked it to do with ease.

I've got the Charge XTi w/ leather and don't have a problem snapping the pouch shut. The elastic sides accomodate the entire contents. The 154CM blade is nice, but now I see that on the TTi they upgraded once again to S30V for the straight blade -- nice. Now if they would sub out their file manufacturing to Nicholson so we'd have a real file instead of a piece of steel that resembled a file, we might have a real tool.

So the TTi has s30v, scissors, crimp and guthook?
Dang :/ I've got to stop here I think. I upgraded Wave => wave 2004 (xmas present) then exchanged that a week later for the charge ti that just arrived last night. It would be $25 to upgrade to tti, but I should probably just be happy with what I've got.

The best sheath Leatherman ever offered was the Bianchi AccuMold for the old Wave. I see that they have a new Molle black nylon sheath that will take any of the full size tools. It looks better than the Charge nylon sheath. Has anyone seen or bought one yet?

I don't own a Charge, but I've been checking them out along with the Core. I had the old model Wave for several years and liked it. The only complaint I really had was that the handle ends didn't meet each other properly. I read that this was fixed by LM on the newer Waves, and the Charge, however the Charge Ti I handled had the misaligned handle problem just like my old Wave did. It didn't have as much play as, but it was evident none the less.

I think the bit driver is a great idea. You could make your own custom bits to work on anything.

They look awesome with the black finish.

My old model wave is in the shop right now for the same problem. The security torx on both handles @ plier/pivot side were loose AND the pliers themselves were loose. The torx can be tightened, but I don't know how LM is going to fix the plier pivot. I'm kinda hoping they swap out the old model wave for a 2004 wave, but getting the old one fixed is fine too.

as for the sheath, i ditched the leather one and bought a nylon one from knifecenter. it fits the bits, a PocketWrench II and a mini-Sharpie with no problems
