All right I am completely embarrassed. I was entrusted to watch my parents house whilst they vacation in FL. Well like a lummox I left the lights on my mom's car on and the battery is dead. I found my dad's battery charger but I need to know if I should set it to 12 volts or 6 volts.

12v.....I would just jump the car or bring the battery to Autozone or such place...They can test it for free and 1hr quick charge it if its just dead but still can hold a charge. I typically just change it in the parking lot myself in 10min. Remember to bring some tools. Or if you have a trickle charger just hook it up. I have left my lights on before and charged it and my battery was fine just drained a bit.

Thanks Nate.

I will try charging it at 12v. I should know this. I guess when it is your mom's car you get nervous.

Some cars used to have 6 volt batteries, as recently as the 1950s. If their car is newer than that set it at 12v.

The really funny thing here is my mom's car is a 1995 Chrysler Sebring with 45k miles on it.
