In the hand,it is comfortable.

untamed,I do not get too far back in the woods, but I can tell you, this blade is commanding. It gives you a secure feel in the hand.
tarmix101,You will like your knife.Charles May makes one heck of a serious knife.I love all of mine, and can't wait for more, although I will have to.
Thanks for the looks and comments, everyone,I just had to show you this one,Sorry that my pictures only capture the Ironwood's beauty to some extent.

I always comment on what a good quality job Charles does on the sheaths, too. The knife fits in there real secure,Great package all around.

BTW, The amizingly precise scandi-ground blade , is made of D-2 !!

tarmix101,At the time of my most recent order with Charles May,the wait time was 3 months. This knife here was purchased off of Michigan Knives.
While I have not used this knife yet,I ocassionally use a small May Scandi grind knife,"Handi-Scandi".The bevel of the grind, acts as a guide, when touch-up sharpening.A few pulls on an Arkansas stone,on each side, and the result is ,one of the sharpest aggressive non serrated blades I've ever used, hands down.

Here's the Handi- Scandi. The sheath on this one,can be used as a necker,on the belt(attach a cord loop),or staight up in the pocket.I like to carry this one,in a top shirt pocket that buttons down.
