ITS HERE!
I actually got this a few days ago, but have been too busy to put a full review.
So the first thing that struck me out of the package was how incredibly detailed the handle was made. Pictures don't do justice to the thousands of small angles there are to give it the exquisite contour that it has. From the pictures, the handle looks small up near the index finger, but it fits my hand like a glove. The combination of the front guard with the larger butt means zero chance of my hand slipping at all. The CF to steel transition is completely smoothed out and ever little detail has been meticulously radiused. To help with the grip, CM has made the front guard, not a straight line, but more curvy with a groove for your index finger. It is hard to explain and hopefully you can see what I mean in the pictures
The attention to detail is also apparent in the blade. It has a quasi-saber/convex grind, where the convex starts about 2/3 the way up, but the transition between the start of the convex and the blade flat is completely smoothed out. The yokote is forward swept, and gives the secondary edge a nice steep flat grind, which is exactly what I wanted.
On the "back" side, there is CM's characteristic FTW and the front side has the cross I had asked him to put on it (which also was exactly how I imagined it in my head when we first got started)
And of course, the patina, gives a pretty cool camo-like pattern. I believe he forced it with mustard. It is very tastefully done, and these pictures really don't show how beautiful it is. It also extends along the tang and the spine.
The sheath is also very professional looking, with a kydex reinforced beltloop, a leather spacer bordering the entire sheath, and a drain hole at the bottom. Matches the knife in it's low-key efficient manner.
Edge was great coming out of the box, I did strop it for a bout 15 minutes, and now it push cuts toilet paper with only a little snagging.
Weighs in at 6.3 oz, 9.9 oz with the sheath
If anybody is on the fence about getting CM to do a project for you, I highly recommend him. He has been a pleasure to work with, very accommodating to my constant changing demands, great communication, and just talking to him makes his enthusiasm and care evident. Thanks for an awesome blade, brother

this picture is especially indicative of CM's skill. My initial reason for wanting this knife was because the CS Master Tanto and Mini Tanto were two of my favorite knives, but I wanted something a bit smaller than the master tanto, and a just a bit longer and wider than the mini tanto. CM delivered.
