Thanks to Dan (Silenthunterstudios), I was able to get my hands on one of Waynorth's masterpieces, with yellow antique bone scales and a clip and pen blade combination.

First impressions:

I sure like it.

It is a solid feeling knife with impeccable fit and finish.

I like it much better than my single clip bladed #15 Boy's Knife.

I'm looking forward to slipping it in my pocket and putting it through its paces.

All in all a great little knife.

I spent most of my life without a Charlow.
I have a lot to make up for.
Definitely a good day when one is in your pocket.

All right, I've got to ask a quick question:

I'm still very green when it comes to traditional knives and the subforum. I've figured out what a barlow is for the most part (straight handle, long bolster, 1 or 2 blades... spear/sheepsfoot/clip).

I've figured out that Waynorth, the creator of the massive barlow thread, is Charlie and a huge proponent of barlows.

So, what specifically is a Charlow? Does he take part in the making or design of certain knives, or is it just said in deference or what?

Pardon my ignorance! ;)

Yes, Charlie (waynorth) has had the TC barlows (Charlows) made by GEC with his input as to design.
They are his SFO (Special Factory Order). I believe Mike (knifeswapper) from Collectorknives.net is also involved,
as he also has some to sell from each batch.

Ah! Gotcha. Thanks a bunch. I had also thought that only the TC barlows were being called Charlows -- guess I was onto something.

Are they still in production? Those ebony/clip blade models are really something.

The spear points are great, and I'd love to have one, but the clip is my first love.

I have been working n getting the edge tuned like I want it, and we're almost there.

I am looking through what I can get rid of from my collection, and the spear point Charlows ain't goin' nowheres!

Naw sir!
