rjdankert I'm glad to see someone following along with Francois Calame and his efforts to ensure the rebuilding of the Norte Dame roof is not turned into the hands of complete jokers. It's still to be seen if that in fact happens and it is an up-hill battle all the way but at any rate he is making a huge effort, and as I know it, all amidst significant but unrelated personal set-backs, to see that the work is done in a democratic way, having majority support for a traditional reconstruction and the backing of an army of talented and committed carpenters.

Monday marks five years since the fire that nearly destroyed the iconic Notre Dame cathedral in Paris. Elaine Cobbe has the story of an American carpenter (Hank Silver) who got a chance to work on the restoration.

hey I just came across this article about a blacksmith making axes for the carpenters tasked with rebuilding the burned out roof of the cathedral

Interesting to see a Rinaldi Trento among them, but I suppose it would work for a variety of tasks if not specifically meant for crafting/building tasks.
