I actually needed it for my research pursuits, and had built one for myself that I now need to figure out what to do with. Once this one is running and zero'd in it should lend a more official feel to my future findings. But if you ever need something broke, let me know.
As Mete pointed out, it can now be done scientifically. While bending blades in a vice is fun it really means nothing for analysis without tightly controlled numbers coming back at you. I gave a little mini-talk and demo at the Scagel hammer-in about standardized testing and the total lack thereof in knifemaking these days, this will let me really put my money where my mouth is.
