Happy Anniversary To One And All!!!

Here's one for us long time members, if you consider 1 year a long time, I guess it's all relative.

Who has an October 2, 1998 registration date besides me? I think I know of one other. Hmmm let's see if that person joins in.

Maybe the powers that be may like to think of bestowing special "Charter Member" status on some of us relics.

PS, I've had a very bad knife week, I need this.

I missed it by a day! But I do know that if my dad finds out that in the past year I wrote 200+ messages to strangers and about 25 to him.........

Doah!!! I missed it by 3 days...I'm an Oct. 5th. But that's no too bad since I joined BM's forum on the 3rd. which is how I found out about BladeForums.

Well mine seem's to be the 5th...Happy Birthday, seem's to have been a good year! I've really enjoyed the time I've spent here this past year reading all the great info and stories etc...It's been a great way to relax with my favorite hobby...KNIVES!!!

You hold some sway here, try to convince Mike and Spark to give us Charter Member status…please.

Kelly, your not the member I was aware of with a Oct. 2 date, but now your getting a idea of how damn special you are. Most of already knew that though.

The rest of you fine folks who just missed don't despair, Charter Member status maybe could be extended to possibly the first week.

My profile says the 3rd also. I also remember the begining very well. Bob maybe you should change your tag to member since the beginning, or something other than day 1. It just would look better to people who look at your profile, and see that it is day2.

I hear your plea about wanting to see a charter member identification but I think it'd be something of a bear for Spark. The software has categories set although they can be overridden like when Doc Welch was annoited with a special label. But this software evolves and everytime a patch or upgrade became available I'm sure Spark would have to go back and reset any of these "other than stock" appellations.

I figure we pretty much know who all was around in the beginning and each involved can take pride in their having continued to support this site, Mike, and Spark for the past year. So my take is that while such a distinguishing label might be fun, anything nonessential that creates more work for Spark I tend to find disfavor with. I'm sure on reflection you'll agree with me. Then too I haven't opened that pandora's box about just what period would entitle the member to the proposed charter member label: first day? two days? first week? Nah

DC I understand has been super busy with both her home web page and as the political moderator on TFL. Doc is a died in the wool MadDog knife knutt and tends to post more in that world. As for the third you referred to, you lost me... not sure to whom you were referring. You can hit me on the head later

Guys, the reason for the discrepency may be because I had the forums working the night before and had a few people test it before I opened the doors to everyone.

Then again, though, that doesn't explain why Bob posted on Oct 2 last year, and his profile shows Oct 3.... Theme from the Xfiles, anyone?

Hmmm...Charter Member has a nice ring to it. Extend it for the first 5 business days. I only had a computer at work a year ago.
