Hello,

my name is René and I am new on this forum. I am a german silversmith/chaser radicated in Buenos Aires/ Argentina since 15 years. One of the things I do are chased silver knives. I attached one working example with a faun and male and female dragon (you will see a slight difference:)) which is 24k goldplated as well. Blades are made of SAE 9260 from a local blade smith and sheets from a braider. Handles are made from 0,8mm thick 925 sterling silver and than chased with a hammer and chasing tools. I´m not sure if that technique is very known. While engraving is taking off metal, chasing just moves metal. So the weight keeps being the same. With this technique reliefs can be made. Would like to know if there are some other artisans around who work with this technique ?
