Chasing the edge

I recently purchased some new sharpening equipment and have reached some type of limitations
took everything to 15* Dps , and got most of my blades to slicing paper towels and two ply toilet paper . And any other paper clean
then I received some rice paper, and can only get some of my knives to cleanly slice it !
can’t figure it out, is it techneic or is it blade material?

It could be what you are using to abrade with too. You need all three to work in harmony, change one and it may affect the other two.

It sounds to me like a micro burr on some of the knives. Have you tried light stropping?
