This has got to be one of the strangest introductions to the Forums ever. For those of you unfamiliar with #bladeforums.com IRC Chat, this may not make a lot of sense, but then again the Chat room doesn't make a lot of sense anyway, it's just for fun.
We have members here that have tried and can't figure out how to get into Chat, it's not the easiest thing in the world. However in the Chat room we get people all the time who just drift in there by accident. Usually these visits are short, because they discover they're in the wrong room, or someone will boot them out of there if they don't seem to belong. It's not the friendliest place sometimes. When we do find a KnifeNut, it's usually a warm welcome, and a good time is had by all.
c-it-all, is an example of the later. He came into our Chat room not as a troll, but interested in what was going on. After some conversation we found out he does have an interest in knives, and wanted to learn more, needless to say he was welcome now. It turns out he had never visited or heard of BladeForums.com, so we incouraged him to check it out, register and post here. Which he did in short order.
So c-it-all, literaly came in through the backdoor, and this is much stranger than it first seems. How would you like to meet; Kit Carson, Tim Herman, Spark, Darrel Ralph, James Mattis, Paracelsus, Vampire Gerbil and the other assorted Nuts that frequent the Chat room before yopu have any idea who they are? Weird huh?
I have to say, c-it-all handled it better tnan most would have, and he signed off Chat by calling us, "a bunch of Magnificent Bastids." c-it-all, got it right, we took it as a compliment, because that's just how we see ourselves in Chat. Now, that is not the image the Forums wants to project, but it is what IRC Chat is like. To give you a better idea, think of The Whine & Cheese Forum as kind of like Purgatory.
Well, I hope c-it-all decides to come back here and to Chat, he seemed like a real nice guy. I encourage some of you BF's members that haven't visited Chat to make the effort, it will give you a whole new outlook on knife.
Warning, it's not for the faint of heart and weenies will be ejected.

The information for mIRC is fine for those good folk among you using PCs, but it doesn't help much for an IRCle user... mIRC doesn't work worth a hoot on Macs!!! Can anyone give me the server address, port, and network...?
The address listed in the faq gives me a "name search failed"
