A frind of mine who is a keen military historian was looking at buying a pair of Chater Lea wirecutters, dated 1917. They are being presented as WW I era. He wonders if they were military issue (probably British). I know Chater Lea made motorcycles and small cars in the early 20th Century. Can any of the history buffs here shed any light on them and possible military linkages?
