Cheap Bastid's Watch??

I read some of the watch threads here on the G&G forum. I see some of us have a rather expensive taste in watches.

I, on the other hand, buy cheapo watches at K-mart, simply because I either abuse them to the point they don't work, or they get lost.

Just bought my third Casio Forester. Never paid more than $30 for one. The band broke on the first one, the second one got severe over spray when painting an interior in one of our rentals. This is my third. I'll try to get to last longer than 12 months this time :D.

So who buys cheap watches (besides me)??

I do! In my line of work... a nice/expensive watch isn't a good idea. I've had Casio forresters too, currently a Timex Expedition. I like having the "indiglow" feature, where you can light up the backround. Nothing fancy, analog with the date window and water resistance to 50 or 100m is all I need. I do have a "dress" watch that I got as a freebie from buying a bunch of stuff for the clinic. Can't remember what it is, but it is much nicer... for "suit" occasions.

Heh... I was a Timex fan for many years. The Indegolo feature was the hottest thing out there at one time. Then I started buying the Forester watches. I volunteer in EMS and need the second hand for taking pulses, etc. I looked at the G-Force series, but they were too bulky for me. I just need a simple watch... somthing that keeps time and date. Who cares about moon phase?? My co-workers let me know when its full moon!!

It doesn't matter whether it's a $15 Timex or a $15,000 Rolex, spray painting it isn't going to do it any good. Whether it's fifteen bucks or fifteen g's, it's just wasted money. If you've got money to waste, even if it is just fifteen bucks, send it to me. There are just certain things for which any watch should be taken off. Spray painting is one of them.

Timex Indiglo, have had one for years. Reliable, lights up in the dark, I can signal my buddies...just keeps on tickin.

Another Timex user here. I have a 21.95 Expedition that I got in 2001. Still running on the original battery, and I too like the Indiglo that makes for a nice blue nightlight on the way to that 2AM trip to drain the pickle.

I won't spend over 25 dollars on a watch.

The dumb thing is... I remembered to remove my cell phone and pager from my belt, but forgot to take the watch off. I burned through almost a five gallon bucket of latex before I realized I left my watch on.

I hate having things around my wrists, watches drive me batty, so I go buy the cheap pocket watches from the local everything box store and use it 'till it goes through the wash machine. They usually last about two-three years for me. Many times after Christmas they'll be 50%-75% off which is the time to buy.

If it's latex paint, Goof-off would probably clean it off.

I buy cheap and the more expensive watches. I have Timex, Casio and a couple Bo-Bo watches that I wear for work, hunting, fishing, etc. Then I have a couple Citizens, Seikos, etc that I wear on the weekend when I going out.
I don't get into the Rolex type watches. I like them, but I have a rule about spend 15G on anything I can't drive home.

Geeze, tough crowd. Don't worry, I've forgotten to take a watch off while painting too. Some of us make mistakes. At least it was a cheap one.

I use some kind of Timex indiglo, depending on which is cheapest at the time. Keeps better time than my friends Rolex, but doesn't look as sweet.

I usually keep them until the battery dies or the band breaks and get a new one. It costs almost as much to change the battery or band and its "fun" to buy a new one every couple of years.

I have owned some nice mechanical watches, and some nice quartz watches, but my favorite watch is this Casio G-Shock....
