Is there a cheap canoe in carbon steel for around 30-35 dollars out there.

It does not realy matter teh handles material.

man that is a good question.
i had an old Case Mahogany bone with a canoe etched on the primary.
i can't think off hand who even made canoes besides case.
of course there are plenty made over seas.
i would actually like to get ahold of a Colt, green bone.

someone with more knowledge will have a better anwser

Queen still makes a hell of a Canoe!
Course it is about $10 more'n you want to pay. :D

If you look around you can find them. I was hunting last week for some sort of decent pocket knife for a Christmas gift; for my daughter to give to her boyfriends dad. Twenty five dollar budget, and I was intent on not buying some junker from that "country that exports a lot of cheap knives to the USA". I found a German made Bulldog carbon steel green jigged bone canoe for $25 at a small shop less than five miles from where I live. I also bought at the same time a Rigid brand carbon steel and stag sleeveboard whittler for $35, got it cheap because of a few little rust spots. The whittler appears to be an Olbertz built knife. If there are any knife shops or old hunting/shooting/sporting goods stores nearby, go look, you may be pleasantly suprised at what pops up.

You may want to look at collector knives, there may be a bulldog canoe in carbon for just about your price range. Collectorknives.net, the owner is a BF contributor as well.

Here is a Boker canoe with Appaloosa bone handles and carbon steel. It's a wee bit over your price range, but not much.

I was going to suggest Böker myself, there are some cheaper models around in plainer bone but that Appaloosa bone that mnblade suggests is a very decent option. I have a Large Stockman in the same bone and F&F are very good.

case amberbone CV, a little higher than you want to pay, they have a few SS options in your price range though
Sorry bout the link!
good luck

The Queen in D2 is an excellent knife, for about the same money as the Boker.

Rough Riders are great inexpensive knives, but are not carbon steel.

*edited* you can fins a nice Queen city canoe around for a good price.

Sorry Elliot. Bad Friday.

A Queen City. The 1095 takes on a nice blue. Nice thick backspring and well fit. Also in red Jigged.
