Hey guys, while my boss is not a knife guy by any means he loves the looks of damascus.

I was thinking of getting him a folder(nothing too expensive)for a Christmas gift.

So, what knives feature damascus steel for a "cheap" price. Under 50$ if possible. Honestly, I haven no idea if there are cheaper damascus blades for under 50... Thats why I am asking here.

Also, must be a folder. I dont care if its tip up, down, sideways.

Thanks, Chris

Looks quite nice... might need one for myself!

Bear & Sons mgc makes damascus folders and there was a recent thread on a Rough Rider damascus folder that looked pretty nice if your boss is not a hard core "USA made" kind of guy.

I have a Skyline in damascus. Excellent knife for the money! The blade looks as if it belongs on a much more expensive knife. I would not hesitate to give one as a gift.

I have Skyline as well. The blade is nice and it fits the hand well, just feels a bit too cheap to me. I think it's because it only has one liner and the G10 is so aggressive it just feels "off".

Another vote for the Skyline. My friend and fellow member here has one and its an incredible bargain.

I picked up one of the small ones. It came razor-sharp, with no blade play, nice tight fit, solid snap both open and closed, and the edge is holding up quite well so far. I'd say it's worth around four times the $19.95 I paid for it at face value. The only problem is going to be sample-to-sample consistency. I got lucky, but some of them reportedly suffer from off-center blades and various small fit issues, but what do you expect for a twenty dollar damascus lockback?
