Anyone know of a brand or name of an inexpensive (cheap) fixed blade knife for showing off cord-wrap design patterns?

I'll be taking the edge completely off, they'll only be for display.

I didn't see anything matching my interests at Ye 'Ol BudK, but I suppose I could buy a bunch of cheap fixed blades from there and remove the handles (assuming their knives are full tang)?

Essentially, I'm looking for a whole bunch of medium-full size knife blanks ("hunting-style" blade) with, say, 440A steel and made with a lanyard hole, with no handle...dirt cheap.

You could always find some cheaper aluminum bar stock and just saw some up. Or for that matter some wood just for display purposes.

Check out www.dealextreme.com

they have lots of knives which are under 10$

Some of their knives are direct copies of respectable brands like cold steel and benchmade, so id suggest you dont get one of those, gotta support the brands we love.

And its free shipping ;)

Hmmm..I also found this at Budk. Apparently the cheap plastic handle is cracked so they're discounted. There appears to be screw holes at both ends, could make a decent display knife. It would be nice to see what's underneath the handle though.

Edit..or maybe some of these

You can get a box of Navy Seal Delta Marine Force Eagle Wolf Indian Spirit Stainless Ninja knives for $1 each on the auction place

Why not just buy a slab of wood paneling and cut out a bunch of handle shaped blanks?

I probably should have specified that these display models may also be handled by friends or customers. Wood would make the most sense economically, but I want them to reflect what an actual product would look and feel like (density, shine, 'heft').

Okay. I thought you just meant for website pics or something to that effect.:)

Cardboard...

Will be easier than anything else... to show different designs on different handle shapes.
