I'm looking for a cheap (under $60) one-handed opener for work. I'd like one that has a pocket clip, or at least the option of adding one. I found the Smith & Wesson 24/7 at a local shop, but I don't want it if it's just going to fall apart on me. Any advice or help would be appreciated.

Good luck out there,

Hey man, welcome to the forums!

You could try a spyderco Tenacious, a kershaw leek um a spyderco native spyderco delica or any kershaw in your price rang would be a good knife.

I have a Gerber AR 3.0 that I have used at work for several years opens easily, has a pocket clip.shaped so it slides back in your pocket easily.Pretty tough I have bent a couple pocket clips when you try to straighten them they break. I call Gerber in a week or so I have a new clip no charge. The only con is It doesn't seem to have very good blade steel it dulls pretty quick but its easy to sharpen.

Kabar Dozier folding hunter or mini folding hunter. One hand open, comes with a pocket clip, solid lockback. Can be had for $25 to $35. Highly recommended.

Here's my only pic of mine (below the yellow ritter grip)

Kershaw skyline, blur, zing, RAM blem from KershawGuy (dave). More info would help.
What are you going to be doing with the knife? Do you want serrations, comboedge or plainedge?, coated, or uncoated?, What size knife? Any preferences to where it's made? Tanto, drop point, spear point, or clip point? Please be more descriptive in what you're looking for.

If you're looking for a cheap knife?, ...that one will probably work as well as many.

If you're looking for quality knife at a bargain price, I'd keep shopping.

Buck Vantage. There are different levels: Select, Avid, Pro. I think the most expensive, the pros, are around $60. You can choose based on blade and handle materials.

I would go with a Cold Steel Voyager. Blade steel is decent, thought not spectacular, and it's obnoxiously tough. If you want better blade steel go for the aforementioned Buck Vantage Pro or Spyderco FRN Native.

Thanks for all the responses guys. It looks like the Kabar Dozier will work the best, and I really like that blaze orange, perfect for spotting it on the worksite if I let someone borrow it.

I'll second the recommendation for the Spyderco Tenacious; it packs a lot of bang for the buck.
