Cheap shots.

Yestarday I try to make shots using chep Ikea lamps and tripoid as Andrew Nik suggested. I did not build paper box but use general idea. To make fill light I bounce one lamp from piece of white paper and for acsent light I cover lamp with some plastic foam like sheet - monitor wrapping thing and to light edge I use another piece of paper positioning it the way it will be reflected in edge and light it with third light. Result is pretty good I think:

So there is no need for expensive equipment if you shooting static setups...

Those look great! That CQD looks like it's seen some use. I have that same model but with a pratially serrated edge. Good knife.

After seeing your picks I'm going to have to pick up a few lights and try your method out. Thanks for the tips.

I was inspiered by Andrew Nik, so it is his method not mine.

The new Kershaw shots look great. Nice color and pattern in the background to off set a fairly mono-tone knife, silver & black.
I like that SOG pair together. Maybe you can try putting a few other knives from the same manufacturer/maker together and taking some shots?

And thanks for the pic of the "mini-lab". Always interested in seeing how others set up there shots. I really need a few more lights.

Oooooooo!

Those new shots are great! I really like the last one. The compostion, lighting, color palette, are all perfect IMO. Even got a watch in there!

Well - not qute little... It is 4 7/8"x1 29/32" x 3/16". Same size as Solution.
