Hi im new to this site, looks great, i started collecting in 1984 , but stopped in 97, sadly due to life situations i sold all 50 odd knives i had, so i started again recently, i prefer small bushcraft type knives around 3-4 inches, but for fun i decided to test a cheap ebay bought surival knife,
ok it was pretty blunt when i got it, so i had it sharpened by a friend of mine, i decided to use it for around 6 months and see how it goes, it actualy done ok, i used it to chop wood, and general bushcraft stuff, the saw is ok, its split down the middle, but its not amazing at sawing, the blade has held a good edge, the grip feels good slippy at first but got better as got worn down, the compass is on the end of the pommel, would prefer inside, but it still works, after some heavy choppping after around 4 months the blad loosened up, and in the end came out, its not fixed inside ? i had it heated up fattened it abit, and smacked it back in, its never moved since, i think for the money these knives are ok, but would not last forever, and show survival knives weakneses, unless you spend 1000, ill go back to my smaller knives now, i just fancied testing one of these, its code is hk8838,
paul
looking abit worn after six months
next on my list , maxas hunting knife, life time garantee ?
i just polished it up ,
another little mod, put the compass from the maxas in the cap , and remove the outer one,
