So, upon my new pt, I wanted to adjust the slightly loose pivot, and theres no tool available yet, to my knowledge. At work I decided to make something really simple that could adjust it, so I made a tool. I know its crappy looking, but it definitely does the job well.

I bought brass rod and a 1$ screwdriver from the local hardware store. I cut the screwdriver handle and countersunk brass rod into the end using a template I made from my pt. The brass is very soft so it will not damage or scratch the pt pivot. I sand blasted it to take any sharp edges off, but in turn, it made the bright yellow handle ugly.

Heres what I came up with:

nice job!
strider should give the tool with any folder they make imo. As demonstrated by you, it shouldn't have to be expensive :)

I am considering buying a new pt but it's rediculous that there isn't even a tool available to purchas to adjust the pivot? Come on strider! So your suppose to send it in just to have the pivot tightened everytime it gets loose. That is ludicrise if you ask me. For this fact alone I'm having second thoughts about buying one.

I just want to thank you for the great idea! I just got a new pt cc and plan to make my own tools with your idea. I shared this idea in another forum. Hope you don't mind. Do you think heating the brass up with a flame and pushing it into the plastic would work or does it need to be drilled? Just an idea. Thought it might be easier then drilling and gluing

So I finally tried to make my own but I don't have a drill press handy and the pins won't line up drilling them with a cordless drill. I do have access to a press but may I ask you how you made your template? I'm sure if I used a press I could get it eventually because I got 2 pins to line up and it works but I want one done right to prevent any chance of slipping. My brass rod is the exact size as the holes in the pivot so they have to line up just perfect which could be another of my problems. Maybe if I loosened up the tolerences just a little it wouldn't have to be perfect? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks
