My work watch is a cheap Timex Ironman Triathalon I picked up here in the Exchange a few years ago. It has stood up well to the abuse it gets every day, but I need to locate a new band for it.

I'm looking for a something similar to the original Fast Wrap band, but am having trouble finding one long enough to go around my wrist--I need something at least 13" long. Any suggestions as far as brands and sources?

Thanks,
Jim

Have you looked at the Maratac bands? For a little more I got a band that takes alot of abuse. They have a band that is 17" long.

The cheap $10 or less plastic bands last me about a year. I don't care for the ones with Velcro because it wears out too quickly. So for the price of a couple of cheap bands, I got a Nato style Maratac band. Its been over two years and shows no signs of wearing out.

I got it at Westcoast time.

My thanks to both you gentlemen, I'm sure I can find something suitable at one or the other of the linked sites.

Phydeaux, for this job I work in a context when I know I will be physically attacked at some point, usually with little warning. Watches are a common target--either to damage property of staff, or as a "handle" on the individual attacked. My work watchband has to be secure most of the time, but be something I can remove quickly if needed, or can be easily torn off if someone attempts to use it as a handle. The velcro fastwrap-style has been the best compromise so far; before that I would weaken a springpin and carry spares.

Thanks again!
Jim
