Cheap, yet protective storage cases?

Anyone know of any suppliers offering a similar case to this Maxpedition case? I don't believe these are made any longer, but they seem to be a simple design with enough padding to protect well, but not too much to create excessive bulk.

Thanks

At the last knob creek shoot I was fortunate to find a vendor who sold some very nice USA made padded zipper cases in all sizes. His prices were unreal, like under $10 for steel heart/mistress sized cases. No clue what he went by which is probably a good thing since he is not a paying member. With that said, I hope To find him at the next shoot. Here is one I use for A TG.

Jerry you should stock up on this guys stuff and toss one in with each knife, they are nice.

Haven't priced them, but have received a few folders in "Bill's Custom Cases" (brand name).

I bought a bunch from knifekits.com a few years ago. Very reasonably priced, and made well enough with good padding. Under $5 each. But they don't seem to have any of the Mistress or Steel Heart sizes any more.

I would totally add $5 to the cost of a knife to have something other than cardboard to keep the knife in while a sheath gets made.

SheffieldSupply.com has Robbins cases in stock--fleece-lined, zippered cordura nylon. Sheffield's .pdf catalogue is from 2013, but I don't think their prices have changed. They go up to a 6x24 for $11.50--all their smaller cases are under $10.

Robbins services the knife industry and takes large orders direct, including embroidered logos, etc. If you scroll down their web page, you’ll see many names you will recognize:

I smell a group buy.
Let's come up with a name... Busse owners assoc.......HOGS.....pigpen playa.....you get the idea, someone I'm sure could come up with a name.
Poll for a preorder and I know their minimum could easily be met.

I like the way you Roll George........I could get down with a Few (quite a few that is) for all the Family...HOG, RATS, & DOGS...

Just an FYI for anyone considering these. I have several, and they're fine for safe storage--much better than cardboard sleeves. But they're just fleece-lined--not padded. IMO not substantial enough for travel protection, for instance. Robbins does make some that are padded, more expensive.

One more reason to head to Knob Creek.

GREAT ideas guys! Thanks ! The "Bill's cases" are closest to what I had in mind but his website hasn't been updated in a while, and his prices aren't published, so not sure how affordable they are.
