Cheapest folder available?

Found one in the camping supplies while on a Wally World Run.

Price 1 dollar..lol

No I have no plans on buying this knife :D Anyone found a cheaper one?

I have a couple that were free with a twenty dollar purchase of other knives. They are almost worth what I paid for them.

I got one you can have... but you gotta come get it as it ain't worth shipping.

Back in the eighties, I knew a guy who collected nothing but cheap, small handguns. In short, he collected Saturday Night Specials. He called it his "Sniz" collection. I suppose someone could raid dollar stores and put together quite a collection of cheap knives. In fact, I hate to say it, but that's how I got into knives. I despise slipjoints and was in a dollar store, when I saw a cheap linerlock. I'd forgotten to bring a knife with me and I bought one. It snapped open and locked and I put it in my camera bag and left it. Then, over the next six months, I found I was using it all the time and decided to see what else was available. I was stunned that good locking knives cost fifty dollars and more. At the time, a good .357 magnum could be had for $300 and I couldn't imagine a knife costing fifty or more. I went from one dollar to six dollars (see photo of an extra one I bought for my camera bag and never used). Then I spent thirty bucks for a Winchester linerlock that turned out to be a disappointment. I finally found a Benchmade Ascent on eBay and was hooked. The blade was ATS-34 and really held an edge well. So when Smokey Mountain lost their senses and sold off their remainder of CRKT S-2s for twenty-five dollars apiece (including shipping), I bought seven of them and later wished I'd bought more. I posted the deal here and no one clipped me for deal spotting, nor did they edit out the link. Even my brother bought a bunch. My S-2 to this day remains one of my best folders. I polished the blade and the titanium frame and it's gorgeous.

So all this from a lousy one-dollar knife. In fact, I think I still have it kicking around somewhere, but there are few knives that I can't use, period.

This Eddie Bauer is one I bought at Target for six bucks. It
has a real titanium plated 440C blade that's one of the ugliest
I've ever seen on a knife. It was going to go in my camera
bag, but I outgrew it before I could open it.

I've seen sites selling a display jar full of cheap folders (maybe around 50) for $20.00 or so. These are the types of jars they put on the counter at gas stations to sell.

Confed,

That was actually my first knife... My brother had and used it for a while. he then bought a CRKT (KISS I think) and just left that knife on a table and never touched it. After a week or so, I just grabbed it and started putting it in my pocket when I went out :P I thought it was so cool... Then I started to get into knives more and I couldn't stand to look at damned thing anymore =P

There is one at my local Wally world for 96 cents. I am sure you can go to the swap meet and find a whole lot more for even cheaper though.:grumpy:
