Cheapest place to buy Becker

Well, the Campanion is discontinued, so I doubt you can find one anywhere now. I'd call some of the larger internet retailers to see if they have some sitting around, but I wouldn't count on it. The Crewman is similar in size, but uses thinner stock. Unless you want it for a sharpened prybar, I think the Crewman will serve you better anyway.

Damn, I didn't know it was discontuined. I thought the blade was smaller on the campanion which is why I chose it instead of the crewman. Looking at the specs, doesn't seem to make much different. I was looking for a knife that wouldn't make the LEO nervous wearing it. Guess I'll have to look into the crewman. Can't be that much bigger then the campanion.

The Campanion's blade is 5 1/2" long, while the Crewman's is 5". Not a big difference really.

Just saw some decent pics of it. Doesn't look like the monster knife some sites make it out to be, looks like a decent size.

I didn't know it was discontinued, its still on the Camillus site.

Knifeworks.com has them for $67 I would have purchased from them but didn't find it until after the fact.

I also saw it for in the $65 range somewhere else but I did not like their return policy and as I am buying these knives sight unseen I didn't think this to be wise.

I was unable to find the return policy on knifeworks, but they do state that customer satisfaction is a main concern.

good luck

Ok heres the deal, the Magnum Camp (Model #BK5) has been discontinued not the campanion (BK2) and camillus does have a deal on their closeout section.

I may need to pick one of these up in addition to the campanion;-)

My recommendation is not to look for the cheapest place to purchase a Becker from. Get your knife from a dealer you know has a good reputation, that you can depend on sending you the knife and sending it quickly. It is worth spending a few more dollars to purchase from a dealer that is known to be reputable. If you do not know the dealer you are thinking of purchasing from then you should at least check them out on the GB&U forum. If a search of GB&U doesn't come up with anything then post a thread asking for peoples opinions of the dealer.

I stand corrected. I really thought it had been discontinued, or at least I remember seeing a post to that effect. Glad to see that I'm wrong though.
