I wandered into The Sports Authority (Peabody,MA.) tonite and as usual ended up in the camping section. They were offering all sorts of things at low or even clearance prices. Brinkman Legend LX flashlights are now $13.99. It may not be a Surefire or Streamlight Scorpion but for that price I picked up an extra one for my truck and 2 for gifts. Seems like a good deal for us cheapsk... uhmm... fiscally responsible types.

Never apologize for being cheap. In fact, I think I have you beat.

My flashlight is a LED Dorcy 4 AA, +12 bucks with the batteries. My sunglasses/safety glasses are mirrored Uvex, 8 bucks. I usually pack a 4 dollar Opinel. My wife and I eat with every coupon available. I ask for discounts everywhere, including grocery stores. I buy factory second Tony Lama boots. I usually shift my 5-speed truck into one gear higher than most rednecks just to save a bit of gas. If I do buy junk food, it's from the 'dollar menu' at McDonalds. I read magazines at Barnes & Noble.

With that, I bought a 400 dollar Strider. Hey, fifty cents here, fifty cents there. After about a year, a free knife.
