Hi,

does anyone know if that colored ring around the pivot comes off when disassembling the knife?
I have my eyes on a used Russki but I don't like the color of that ring so I'm contemplating modding it...

It seems you are talking about the pivot collar that comes on some Russkis. it would be considered an integral part of the knife so if you removed it there would be a space left around the pivot. I've only partially disassembled one of the two knives I have with a pivot collars but I can't remember if it was easily removable or secured in place. Is this similar to what you are referring to?

Yeah this... exept it's shiny purple on the Russki I'm looking at, kind of like many mounting parts on those funky mountain bikes in the early 90s, if anyone remembers... o_O

I'd like to do an acid etch or some kind of anodization on it if possible
