Isn't it interesting how many Para 2s are for sale on the forums?

They'll be cheaper when they hit the stores in just a few weeks (and you'll be more certain of getting the latest mods, should that be important to you.) But some of us just can't wait.

It's also interesting that two of the online stores advertising the lowest prices also seem to be among the last to get the new Paras in any quantity.

I've regretted it almost every time I've been an early adopter, so I'm holding off. And, especially in these times, I'm a cheapskate to boot. Saving $15 or $20 or more isn't chump change to working folks.

There could be a few reasons I can think of:

People are selling their initial run PM2's after seeing the upgrades that were done.

or

People are selling their S30V's after receiving their S90V sprint runs.

Of course, there is always the people who want to turn a profit, and the people who wanted to try one and realized it's not for them.

(I myself am waiting by the mailbox as my S90V went out for delivery at 10:10! Come on mailman!!!!)

I watched the regular P2s go as high as $182 on eBay. I practice "calm" when something new comes out because inevitably there will be a boatload for sale and trade. I had a P2 for a week then sold it to get something that might be harder to find later on. I know I can get another at normal pricing later.

Perhaps one of the methods they use to support those low prices is to save money on inbound freight by having their shipments aggregated, rather than having each model ship from Spyderco the moment it becomes available.

Seems there are more S90Vs being sold than S30Vs to me...

Would agree with that from what I've seen. But for the price of the para2 at some places, I'd definitely just wait. You can save a lot of dinero.

What changes were made after the initial run?

The lock is moved toward the pivot for more comfort when unlocking and Eric's initials are moved toward the gymping of the knife.

Will have to wait and see pics of that, can't imagine it is a huge difference, but seems like it could have an impact. Thanks for the info.

What are the upgrades from one Para2 to another..?

How are we gonna know if we are buying the latest models when they're available with the upgrades?

I've been wanting a "new" Para 2 S-30V for about a month but can't find one anywhere at a fair price. :(

The upgrade is a nice improvement.

Not only is the tab moved forward, it is also spaced in from the scale. This allows you to release the lock and blade using the tab, just like the Para1.

My first run Para2 wouldn't do this.

My new Para2 is date coded "L J" (12/2010) It has the upgrade.

Is that on the box 5.56? Is it "L J" or the whole "L J" (12/2010) letters and date?

That way if I order I can have them check for this notation before shipping. Thanks.

Nah I grabbed that pic off the exchange. You want one, go there.

But I am set thanks.:D

Try CS, their price probably can't be beat. They seem to have a great rep among members of this forum and the owner of the site is a regular on Blade Forums as well.
***As a side note, Para2's are back-ordered but you still can't beat the price.
