Got this nice contraption to hold sandpaper down nice and flat from rockstead. works awesome! the rollers hold down on the sandpaper and it stretches it flat. also came with a rubber mat to go under the paper for convexing. anyhow I think its cool, works great and very heavy!

Very nice!

Did you get it direct or through a dealer?

Very nice. Should cut down on the scratches from loose paper, lifted corners.

Good for you for snagging that. I was admiring it on the Rockstead website the other day.

Can you share with us how much it set you back---including shipping?

Andrew

not cheap by any means....(28,000 yen), 280 shipped from japan.
very heavy duty and well designed tho.

Nice, I've been debating on how to build something like that for a month or two now. Looks like they have done a far better job than anything I would have come up with.

Thanks for the info. Too rich for my blood, but a boy can dream....;)

That is sweet!

The people that use sandpaper, know, it is the best media to use for sharpening, for several reasons. Cost, availability, choices of material, ease of use, consistent results.

In short, sandpaper cannot be beat.

So, a jig, to get the most, out of a best choice, is a great investment.

My mind invents solutions, and I could see 6 of these, rotating around a center, each one with a different grit.
