Well, here is a picture of one of my latest khukuri purchases. It is a 15" village utility model.

I guess the sheaths should be treated before we get them wet and let them dry in the hot sun!

I have no problem believing Chiro is a giant ... what I want to know is where did he get that gigantic Scotch tape dispenser?

Yes I'm still here Rusty. It takes more than that to scare me off. What you don't realize is that I live with Terry, 3 kids, an iguana, a savana monitor, a nile monitor, 2anoles, 2 snakes, fish and a dog. I also have Terry's work shop and wood shavings in my living room. Nothing can run me off.I guess your stuck with me. ha! ha!

Sandi, sounds more like a zoo... The funny part is that my wife and I call our house the lizard lounge, sounds like your house deserves the title more

I have to wonder if that villager isn't really a Chiro 75 Special?

Bill, unfortunately I do not own a 30" sirupati, but just for the perspective, here I am holding a katana with a 32" blade. Handle is 10".

That katana must be a modern American version ... I've never seen a hollow-ground traditional katana ... the blade looks a bit wider than most traditional katanas, too. Hmm ... the length is 32" (81cm) so the width looks like about ... um ...

How well do you think the HI katana with the finger grooves would fit your fingers, Chiro? This is a good illustration of why one-size-fits-none finger grooves are Not A Good Thing....

The blade's like a foot side on this particular sword. Remember, being such a big guy I need the sword to be able to take a lot of shock, you know. As far as the maker, it is Neil Blackwood, and I did the finish work. It was a real bitch finding a piece of green linen Micarta that big and also having enough material to wrap the handle.
