Good job on the hawk, I really have to get myself a wood burner.

That rune is Elder Futhark, it is the Othala rune, the O rune. However it does not mean separation, I have included the meaning of that rune below.

Othala (O: Ancestral property.) Inherited property or possessions, a house, a home. What is truly important to one. Group order, group prosperity. Land of birth, spiritual heritage, experience and fundamental values. Aid in spiritual and physical journeys. Source of safety, increase and abundance.

Nice. I have been throwing my norse for years now. I have not done much, except strip it. I need to get it on the wire wheel and clean it up a bit.

The handle is taped with gorilla tape. I did a throwing demonstration for about 120 kids.

Spent 9+ hours throwing with groups of about 10 or so. The ground was so rocky, though, it really beat my handles and blades up! (what with the the constant, all day long missed throws by all the kids and adults!)

Check out what this guy did with his. (recently in the sticky) The sky is the limit with these.

Haha thats crazy! I would like to see a video of you throwing!

Been a long time since I posted any videos. This is about a 58 foot throw if I remember correctly (measured with a tape measure).

This one is from 25 feet

This one is from 1/2 rotation back (about 30 feet or so).

This is a close throw. Reverse bit (meaning the edge is facing toward me when I start the throw).

My wife was bored, and would not film any more. When I am throwing for fun, I will throw several hawks, and knives from different positions. Moving forward or backward. I will throw three different hawks, and a couple of knives as I am walking toward the target.

When I did the "instructional demonstration" only a few kids and adults out of all those were not able to get a stick with the hawks.

The absolute best thrower of the day was a little lady (probably about 13 years old). She literally got a stick on her second try, and then stuck about 20+ in a row, without missing again! She was fantastic! We even had her try different weight and style heads, and she was spot on!

That look awesome! I was looking at ordering a Norse Hawk earlier. Now I just light have to.

Great job. Runes do mean something. Exactly what is more or less lost to history. Each "Tribe" used different runes to mean different things. Mostly they were letters. Your rune means the letter "O." Again, different groups of Germanic people used different runes to mean different letters. Runes hail mostly from the Migration Era, roughly 500 BC to 1000 AD. The Celts invaded Western Europe about 500BC. The Angles, Saxons, and Jutes, invaded the British Isles at the fall of Rome 430AD.
The runic alphabets we're most familiar with were used on Rune Stones, markers set up at prominent places to commemorate deeds or people (Memorials). These were popular during the Viking invasions of Europe starting around 800AD.
