Then he gave it to me for he likes the VIC now.
He can carve real good with that knife, it's all he needed.

Buck, made in USA, by hand back then.

would be my favorite knife! Personally I would use it around the house and enjoy it, but never carry it, as it can't be replaced..bet the steel is real nice...

love slipjoints!

I'm not a slipjoint guy
But that is a lovely one and the history is precious

You got it, that is why I still have it after all these years, I lost the first one he gave at 5. He said oh well, can not afford another one till I am done with this one. So I got that one when I was 18. He's was very angry one day, he said boy if I let you see my gun, you will point it at me and shoot me, I don't trust you. What have you got to say? And I said, "Why would I kill my DAD?" I would be lost forever and go to hell forever for that one. So he took me to the woods explained how it worked and handed it to me. I hit the target right off the bat at 50 yards. That is why he let me have that knife, but first he took an old file and took the edge off so I could not cut myself or anyone else, then he said, if anyone ever comes to my house and says you used that knife for any other reason then what it was meant for I will take that knife away and put you in JAIL till you are 18. You should never give someone something he or she does not know how to use. You will be responsible, and don't let anyone know you have it in your pocket or they will take it away, and I can do nothing about that.

It Great to live in the USA today, I love a strong country.

Also, once he saw I knew how to use a knife, he handed me a ruff stone and showed me how he sharpens his knife. He does it the old way, the way you sharpen a long knife. Anyway he said you can only handle a knife to be as sharp as our can make it. If you need someone else to put that edge on, you will cut yourself for sure, if you try and work with it.

I need to buy a new one so I can start carrying an old slip joins, I love them now that I don't need the lock up, my hand can do that.

eBay I will be there soon, I need to look around to see all the old stuff that is still around.

Yes there it is, my old pocket watch, cool.

Who needs batters?

He got me another one a year later, brand new, the I started carving dead wood from the woods.

Don't cut a live tree, it will come for you.

Skill in the hand is worth the world, but do not give it freely, unless you know he is a good man.
