I bought it at a gun show a year ago and the old guy said he never used it once. Upon further inspection it still has the factory edge. Codger will probably know better then me but it sure looks like it. I couldn't really find any sharpening marks.
It would take chicken eyeing it in person to tell. Or looking at it with magnification. But try running the tip of your thumbnail the length of the blade. Any dips, deep scratches or "gotchas" should be felt. The oxidation could be the result of a damp (humid) sheath if it was kept stored in it. The older leather was acid tanned and rough on blades. Nice get! They certainly don't make them like that anymore.
