Man! The Pentagon elite II really is a monster!

It dwarfs out the pentagon elite I! The pics are from agrussell.com/

I had one once. If it had metal or micarta or G10 handles I'd own two of each. :D

But it has Zytel so I have none. :(

Thanks for sharing that pic. Been a while since I looked at it. Yep, the PE-II is HUGE!! I love mine. Travels nicely in it's custom Leather sheath from Leatherman. :D

G10 would make an awesome handle... But I still like mine.

No prob wild. But I guess that the Pentagon Elite II looks huge only because it is placed side by side with the Pentagon elite I. Now that I've found this picture, I think I would choose the PE II instead of PE I. But the issue of carrying such a large 5" knife that looks intimidating and bumping into a police officer would be unlucky.

So having such a knife would be for your own viewing only!

NAK, here in Utah, I can carry any sized folder I like with out a problem. I can actually wear a fixed blade on my belt as long as it's open and doesn't draw to much attention to it. Wore my Desert Dagger to many a state Forest and National park. Never had a problem. A classy leather sheath helps the knife look less intimidating. ;)

Hope you enjoy the knife and don't have any legal problems with it.

Oh yeah. If you look like the outdoor man type who looks as if he is carrying a knife to protect himself from bears and wild boars then I guess its okay. But not when you carry it around in the city though.

Does anyone know wheter knives longer than 4" are allowed to be packed in luggage to another country(on holiday)?

For a "reality" check, you guys need to remember that the Pentagon Elite I has a 3.9" blade. That's on the big end for standard tactical folders (3.75" seems to be status quo). Once you can picture that, then the reality of the PEII's size becomes stunningly clear.

Planning to buy a PE II....Got too addicted. Darn! Not sure if it would go through customs anot if I pack it in my luggage when I go travelling. I have a couple of 3.75" knives, and I want something large for a change.

Can someone please post 2 pictures for me to see??:
1. A picture of a hand holding the PE I/II.(I wanna see how big it looks)
2. A picture of a normal pen side by side with the PE I/II.

Thanks for your effort!

Impressive. Thanks again cOLD. You've been very helpful.

Just one thing to clarify: The 5" is from the tip to where the sharp part ends or from the tip to where the blade meets the handle(as shown in the pircture)?

Ok. Thinking of buying a pentagon elite. Which should I choose? I or II? I plan to use this knife for everyday carry, and to bring along for travelling to other countries... :p

I think thats something you are going to have to decide for yourself. But you can't go wrong either way.:D:thumbup:

In my opinion, the PE II is way to big for an EDC...for one thing it was pulling my pants down on one side :)

Yeah that's what I was thinking too. Too scary(as viewed by others, not me) and too heavy. PE II is 6.4oz! Maybe I'll settle for the Pentagon Elite I, though it is a pity that I should miss out a beauty like PE II... :foot:

Which do you have by the way??

If it were unlined zytel (something along the lines of a Spyderco Delica), I'd agree. My Pentagon Elite II has steel liners, covered by chekered zytel. I'm quite happy with it!
