I was checking out Ebay and found an interesting collection, well out of my price range but it is something to strive for. http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=391583879
(BTW, this isn't my auction, I just thought it was interesting)

Seems high to me also but it goes to show what a collection can set you back when you aren't looking

I have 97 Spyderco knives in my collection and I don't have near that much in it. Maybe I should put my collection up for auction. My wife would love that!

Hmmm... those Yellowhorses and Sante Fe models can command some high prices, especially if they are rare. Easily at about $400+ each. Same for the Diver variants. But $15,000 total is a bit high. Not to mention the additional $99 shipping costs!

With that many knives, considering the packing necessary and the insurance involved, $99.00 ain't bad. Besides, I doubt that someone would quibble over a sawbuck if they just laid out $15 grand for a bunch of knives.

Considering the serial number factor and the fact that someone went to the trouble to gather all of these pieces, I would say that this is one case where the whole is worth more than the sum of the parts.

Most of the models may still be in production but you can't get that serial number. The right collector just might go for it.

Sure is a lot of money though.
