hey everyone, i just picked up a br bravo 1.5, love it but hate the sheath, so i threw this together the other night while i was watching tv, from so scraps i had laying around! looking for any feed back or design improvements i may not have thought of! i know its a little sloppy, but it was the protoype, i really just wanted to stitch one up and carry it around for a few days to see how i liked a dangle on this knife! it also has a high carry loop sewn in below the dangler, it is lightly wet formed and just a really quick dye and mink oil.

(( removed sale ))

I like the zigzag stitch at the top. Looks like a nice sheath. Let us know how it works out for you.

As a friction sheath, the stitching is too far away from the handle. Over a short period od time the knife will be loose in your sheath. I also try to avoid metal snap contact with any sheath I make especially against such a nice knife with pretty scales. If I have to, I counter sink the snaps.
Nice overall design though and with a couple changes will serve you well.
The original sheath doesn't look like it was designed for your knife. Your knife doesn't have a guard on the spine for the retention strap to be affective.
Good looking knife, What type of wood is the handle made from?

Thanks a lot for the feedback! i was starting to think that i had broken some type of unspoken rule ( due to the lack of feedback !! ) You know Jaymack9100 , it funny that you noticed the metal on the sheath, because just carrying it around walking my dogs, it was one of the first things that i noticed, in regards to the stitching, my intent on the finished version,is to do the zig zag stitch, but make a more snug " pocket " for the edge of the scale if that makes sense? i kind of like the look of the snap, but you are 100 % correct in not wanting to ruin the scales!! ( they are elder burl btw ) Also , i have a really nice piece of latigo leather that i thought I would use for the finished version of the sheath, does anyone have any thoughts on that type of leather ( i really like the durability and the look of course ) the knife is cpm 3v steel, there shouldn't be any concerns with staining or anything else ???
thanks again, I really appreciate the comments!

Hey i4Marc !! thanks for the comments!!!, you know what, I have always wanted a knife like this bravo 1.5 and i have always, wanted a dangler sheath, and so far i really like the dangler, i am finding it very comfortable to wear, when i walk around it isn't half hiding in my jacket, and when i sit down it just lays out of the way! best part is that when my hand falls to my hip the knife is right there!!! I feel like I have been missing out this whole time.
