So I ordered a sheath from steelnut and it just so happens that it fits the ESEE 6 Molle. I added a shoulder strap and I think this is the perfect setup for woods carry. Big thanks to Steelnut for not only making a fantastic sheath but always incidentally making sheaths that fit the ESEE molle :D

That's pretty sweet. I got the Armorall Leather sheath when I got my Waki. That looks like the next Lite Machete sheath, that hasn't been made yet. Cool!

Kalel,
That is one dirty little set up you have their brother, I do believe that will be an excellent woods set up! I dig the shoulder strap set up. Congrats:thumbup:

Nice set up for the Waki:D:thumbup: I like the ESEE molle attachment idea, looks like it works great:cool::thumbup:

Can you draw the wak one handed? If so, how, thumb against the top (near the button snap of the nylon holding the handle)?

yeah I can draw it one handed but its a bit slow with the button snapped. I can draw it really fast though if I hold the sheath with on hand and unbutton the snap and draw the sword with the other.

Yeah it is very secure without the strap. I just like to be extra safe. You have to hold it upside down and swing it pretty good for the waki to come out. Its a very tight sheath.

AMAZING SETUP! I just bought my waki and i gotta know where to find a kydex sheath like that.

Talk to Steelnut. He made my sheath and its awesome. I added the shoulder strap myself but he offers a strap setup for like 20 dollars extra I believe and you can buy the Molle backing on ebay. Its the ESEE 5/6 molle. You should do it I can't imagine having a more perfect setup than this.

Nice set up. When I am done with my sheath, I will also carry it over the shoulder. Originally I wanted to carry it ninja style on my back, but I would probably end up stabbing myself in the neck.

i've been carrying mine, Ninja Style, for a year or so and have only poked myself in the neck one time :) the real drawback to this method is - the handle wacks doorways, if you forget to turn sideways. i'm redoing mine for hip carry.

i know everybody seems to love the thicker stuff, but i made mine out of .060 and it's fantastic. secure, yet FAST out the sheath.

OP - that rig is pretty cool

OP, that is a pretty nice set up!

I got the balric strap offered by steelnut and simply made a few modifications to it for a snug over-the-shoulder cary. I've never stabbed myself in the neck, but you do have to be aware of how much the handle protrudes, like zignal_zero says!

I can easily draw mine with one hand. However, sheathing it is a bit trickier!

By the way, I know how silly this "ninja" style looks,...haha, but it's fun and actually works well when I'm out tromping through the woods!:)

zignal_zero: I'm glad you only stabbed yourself only once in the neck. Isn't once enough? =]

BryFry: It looks awesome ninja style. You get any wierd looks from other campers running though the woods with the waki?

haha ...I probably would if I wore it that way around the camp grounds, but I usually reserve the big blades for when I sneak off into the thick, and blaze my own trails where no one else goes.

I did get some pretty crazy looks from my new neighbor when he stumbled on to me using my waki to trim back hedges in my back yard! LOL!
