Check out what came with my new house!

go buy a pistol off the street don't put it in your name and shot him and through the gun away
Sam Fogler

Im with you guys! No guns in the house without a fight with the lady as of now, though. Shes never even held one and is freaked by em. Nothing I cant fix with some time and sweet talk. I would feel 200% better with a sling full of shells and an 18" barrel shotgun next to my dresser, thats for sure.

Keep a dry chemical fire extinguisher next to the dresser, then. Slightly better'n nothing, at least.

if you find out where he lives and report it to me i can make sure you never hear from him again. if you want that is. my rifle isnt registered. just let me know if you want me to take care of the dirty work.

You'll need that after you use the value sized can of WD40 and the lighter on him:D

Seriously though, I would buy a gun and get your girlfriend to a range. Although, you sound well qualified, training might be easier for her to recieve if it comes from someone else. By starting at a range, with a licensed instructor it also gives her exposure to guns without her having to give in and own a gun/have it in the house right off the bat. Baby steps, build her up to it.
The NRA offers some very good programs in this respect, some of which are geared towards women, and would most likely be instructed by women. This might also make the situation easier for her. Take a look at their refuse to be a victim program here : www.nrahq.org/rtbav

Aside from that, I agree that you need to get the authorities involved. You should also get a picture or description of the guy so you know what to look for. The neighbors or the police should be able to provide this. And then make sure that you and your girlfriend make it a habit to carry your cellphones so you can call police, and check in with each other, and stay extra alert.

Its really a shitty situation. I'd suggest moving if it is was at all possible, but how are you supposed to sell the house with this situaiton going on? No one in their right mind wants to buy into this mess, and although it sounds like somebody did it to you, its hard to just dump it on someone else without warning.

That's a little too over the top, son. Like Matt said, even for a joke it's too much. You could get yourself in a lot of trouble for statements like that.

You need to get ahold of yourself and chill more than a little. Just yesterday you said you'd tone it down. You just got worse instead of better.

Don't you catch on that people are getting a little tired of you? They're trying to be gentle about it, but that's what you're being told.

Take heed before you totally wear out your welcome.

I agree completely with fitzo. If something happens to this guy, even if you weren't involved, you've just made a statement that makes you the prime suspect. I am also very wary of anyone that would make that kind of statement! Human life is a precious thing. Hating your enemies is not a good thing. Hating someone you don't even know, and wishing them dead is inexcusable! You've said something that was totally disgusting to me. Wishing someone dead and offering to be the one to do it is inexcusable.

Yeah a little over the top, but tone on forums can be a really weird thing to read...even following up with a smiley or something else to connote a joke would have been smarter....

This has been a tough situation. The lady is here to stay, we will be getting engaged and married this year for sure. She has a fear of guns in the house for varying reasons, which I can understand for someone who has never been around guns at all. I would have to train her if she ever allowed it. No sense in having a weapon she is too scared to use. My match .22 wouldnt be any good at all in a defense situation unless the guy was 100 yards away and hiding in a mousehole :)

We live in about the quietest neighborhood on earth. 9pm and its like a morgue on my street and we have zero traffic. The good thing is that anyone or anything out of place sticks out like a sore thumb.

IG maybe we can make a nice self defense hawk at the HI. I can bring down a nice big ballpein hammer head that I can get big bertha to press into a spike hawk.

Dave, Jay M. will be doing a demo on making one out of a rasp. If you don't have a rasp I have one here you can have. ;) :D

Sweet. i saw that exact demo last year and I liked it. Ive been wanting to get a large chunk of 1084 or 1095 to make one from so I can put a hamon on it. I have that 1" round W2 that I could bump up pretty easily as well.

Your getting really close to being kicked overboard

I have to agree with what a lot of folks here have said. Get law enforcement involved, and stay in touch with them. Nobody has a right to make you live in fear in your own home. You should IMHO, have some method of self defense available in the house, and the longer-ranged the better. As to your GF needing to be "brought around" to not keeping a victim's mentality, I'd rather not offer much in the way of suggestions since I don't know her or her reasoning for her dislike of firearms. Have an honest conversation with her about it though and try to understand where she's coming from. If you don't understand her fear (rational or otherwise) you'll only end up being another stressor to her and strain your relationship. Don't let this dirtbag screw up your happy home.

Please be safe, be careful, and above all be vigilant. The world has too many wackadoos running around at random, one who's focused can just be waiting for a moment.

Take Care,

P.S. I wasn't going to say anything in thos post because it's not germaine to David's problem, but I can't let it slide...

Shut it, sit down, and just listen for a while Squee. Comments like the above only underscore the fact that you've got some growing up to do. You can learn a lot about more than just knives from the folks here, but you're going to have to relax, hold your tongue, and pay attention for you to have any chance of learning the important lessons the folks here could teach you.

The rasp would be quicker. We could do another one when you come down here for a one on one.;) :D

You need to get in touch with your local law-enforcement agents and inform them of your situation. And they can monitor his activities if he gets out. You don't have to live in fear of your life. Get on the ball before something happens. You do have the right to protect your self and family from innovators to your home. Check on your state laws pertaining to your situation. -------------------
