I took a Buck knife that had some plastic scales on and replaced them with some wood. It is still in progress, but I thought I would show some pics to the fellow Buck nuts

Thanks,
John

Thanks guys. This was one of those gold lip pearl plastic handle knives with a spider engraverd in it. It also had a spider web on the bolsters. I added the finger grooves as well and I think I may make them a little deeper.

Thanks again,
John

Thanks for all the kind words. I think the knife is turning out pretty good, but there is a good bit of finishing sanding that needs to be done.

Before I put the wood on this knife, I tried leather. I got the idea from the "Rubber Bucky" threads. I took an old belt that I use for stroping and cut off enough to make the scales. It looked pretty good (the black leather and NS bolster) and seemed to be pretty grippy. The leather was pretty easy to work with getting the shape I needed. I wish I would have taken a few pics before I took off the leather. I just thought I would throw the idea out there in case someone else wanted to try it out.

Thanks again,
John
