check this out. this looks like one cool little knife. I was thinking about getting a smaller spyderco and just stumled on this on ebay anyone know about experimental knives? it seems like a rare knife. Is this a knife that I should use? you know you always hear about this guy that had something rare but jacked it up actually using it. i don't want to make any collecters crap their pants because i actually want to use the knife:) so i guess my main question is if i use it am I a moron:D

Wow. That looks kinda like the Meerkat w/o the phantom-lock.

Pretty nice. I certainly wouldn't use it very much. I would definitely consider it a collector's piece.
 
That knife appears to be a Pegasus C61. It's the stainless steel version of the Navigator C62, which comes in a few different handle variations. The Pegasus is slightly smaller than the Navigator though.

I think the Pegasus and Navigator had the "experimental" designation when they were first made. The Pegasus wasn't a forerunner of the CoPilot though, as that model is much older.
 
Cerulean is correct. The CX01 became the C61 Pegasus which is now discontinued. We have them on closeout on our web site.

The above Ebay item is incorrect in stating the CX01 preceded the C09 Co-Pilot.
 
The Pegasus is a great little knife. I consider mine an improved Co-Pilot. :) I almost bid on that one, but no money makes it hard to pay for. You'll like it.

I was looking at those knives also but got the closing times screwed-up.
