I will never forget this day. I was standing down the bank when my boy yells "dad I got one... I REALLY GOT ONE!!" It nearly pulled him in but by the time I had gotten to him this monster was at the bank! Its these moments that will last a lifetime.

Great looking bass! Congrats to him, and you.

Now, do you have a Tackett Filet knife, or Bird and Trout, to get that sucker ready to eat? :D

I asked that day. He told me to keep trying! I was killing the 4-5" bluegill and then he pulls that out. He was prettyproud about the fish and that he showed dad up by a mile!

Life doesn't get much better than that. By the time he's a teen that fish will have been the size he is now!

you got him hooked now, that smile is from ear to ear. I can still remember my first big bass I caught at that age. I hope you remember this moment forever, cause when he wants his first boat and real fishing rig, you may have to just give in. You definitely have a fishing partner for life. He'll tell you like I told my dad: it's your fault I'm hooked. Thanks for sharing this forgetful monent

Most certainly, some of my proudest moments have been when my boys out fished me.
You'll have a fishin buddy forever!!

Great pic! I remember many moments with my son when he was that age and every trip was worth the time and effort. Thanks for sharing.

That is awesome! What a great memory. I was fishing for carp with my 8 year old son. He will never let me forget that I caught the smaller one by a big margin. I taught my 2 boys how to fish. Now they fish more than I. Before and after school.

That's awesome!
My wife said "Fish for a week!" when she saw that picture...thanks a lot, now we're hungry. :D
Can't say the kid isn't pulling his own weight for dinner, because he literally did!

Wow you both look so excited! Congratulations a day you both will cherish. Nice fish!

NICE CATCH! Slightly jealous, went out with dad and my brothers on Thursday and got completely skunked, think this cold front had something to do with it. Wishing you and yours continued angling success!
