I checked out the small local museum in this town yesterday and was quite surprised. As I naturaly gravitate to war relics I found a knife display. The display in this tiny museum had an original SS officers dress sword/knife and there was an original Sykes Fairburn fighting knife, both brought back by the same Canadian soldier, in this small town. In the upstairs displays I saw several Hudson Bay trading knives that the Indians used on local buffalo. Some knives were found on the prarrie and some were donated. One knife that really caught my eye was manufactured by UNWIN & RODGERS SHEFFIELD. I googled this company and they were a going concern in the 1850's. The design was close to the modern KA-BAR Short Bowie, with a slightly shorter and wider blade.
