Ty makes a wonderful knife. He likes to work in mirror polished 440C. I own a saddlehorn trapper, similar to the one on the above site made of giraffe bone, but mine is elephant ivory. Notice how he can tweak the tip area and make a spearpoint where the spey blade is more commonly seen (last folder, the giraffe bone). The knife I have won Best Folder at the 2004 Arizona Knife Collectors annual show, and it was certainly deserving. But I got mine because I loved the blue titanium liners with the ivory, I didn't know it won Best Folder until afterwards. The action on Ty's folders is smooth as butter, and the fit and finish is top notch. He is also a humble, but very nice guy.
Good to see him getting a little run.
Can you tell I like his work? :D

I am gonna get one of them, hopefully in a week. Are they good users, or just safe queens?

I believe that knife will do whatever YOU want it to do. Sit "Safely" or work/cut like a mutha....... :D

He makes VERY solid knives....they just look nice as well.

I am glad to hear that they are so nice. I have the vision of carrying one of his knives till I am old enough to pass it on to my grandson in 40 years. (Now I just have to talk my girl into having a kid, so one day he/she will make us a grandchild. LOL)
 
I'm with El Lobo, not safe queens.
I use mine all the time great cutters & solid finish & sharp!!
I reckon you won't be dissapointed. If you want some thing different from dealer speak to Ty directly he'll make whatever you want( I wanted sheepsfoot for utility) at the moment he only takes abot 4 to 6 weeks. He is a really good bloke.
