It's a sapsicle.

I found it on one of the cherry trees in the back yard. It's not all sap but it has quite a bit in it, it's kind of rubbery but more like ice than dried sap.
 
How does it taste? Seriously, every time I see one I come closer and closer to tasting one.
 
I bet in a survival situation that may have some nutritional value if you made tea out of it.

I don't know, cherry sap smells like sawdust mixed with Turtle Wax so I'm not in a big hurry to give it a taste. I've only tasted pine and mulberry sap.
