Since a lot of you are my friends, i am posting this here as well as the axe forum here. Watch if you want! I don't know if this has been posted a hundred times or not, but since i can only search back 12 pages, im posting this.
It is worth the time to watch through the whole video, and even watch the next part if you have the time.

One of the coolest things you will ever watch on youtube.........

His story is quite inspiring I've got 2 or 3 DVDs about his life in the wild, this video I believe is from the first one all are worth watching he was real man, don't make 'em like that anymore.

At first I was really wondering what I was watch, the after a few minutes I'm shushing my wife and kids. Very inspiring!

If only I could just sit and talk to this guy. I'd spend weeks discussing random survival and building topics. And at 51....damn. I'd like to see 51 men do what he did in the same amount of time these days.

I dont know what axe he has, but most likely the handle was constructed by him, and the axe head was just something lying around.

If your into this sort of thing, look up Ray Mears. hes a British survivalist who makes most of his equipment. He makes survival look like camping. he also has his own line of axes and knives. I'd trust my life to his equipment.

This man is an inspiration, fact is God stopped building folks like this along time ago. This has got me thinkin' I could build a log cabin, it could be done over a few year period but it is easily doable and once erected its done but work and life are what gets in the way.

Dick or Richard Proenneke is amazing. When I think of survival, I think of this guy. There is also a book, 'Alone in the Wilderness' about his life which is really great.

Yea I had seen the whole video a few years ago. It's worth getting, I am ordering it myself. This is what a man is supposed to be at 51? I better start working out...

Yeah, 51 years old, this man would shame modern day 20 year olds. I am ordering the dvd and I am putting this guy right up there with the likes of Mors Kochanski.

Have his DVD's, an awesome man. One of the best things he mentions is if you are alone, you dont or should not take stupid chances.

Ah, had those dvd's for a couple years now. You can rent Dick's cabin if you're interested...
