Hello all - Been sick with what started as flu then turned into bronchitis. felt to bad to even check my email

a couple years ago i was exposed to MRSA when I was caregiver for my uncle while he was in process trying to save his leg which later was amputated due to MRSA infection

Doctor told me MRSA can lay dormant for years and tends to live in your nose at the edge of the nostrils - well a sore in my nose from the cold and runny nose i had turned into staff infection and nose is all messed up.(like really really messed up)

went to doctor five or so days ago and got medications to treat all the problems

been pretty miserable for a couple weeks. well I just thought i would check in and say hi. -

I have never really been into internet chat or group forum type things but it seems i got used to checking in here at the HI area of the forum you all are pretty cool - well gonna go take my meds and take a nap -

I hope you are all doing well

Eric

Smoke and Prayer for good and gentle healing for you, my friend.
If theres anything i can do to help you out, you know how to reach me.
Get rested and take good care of yourself, we will be here when you are well enough again to hang out.

Hey Eric,

The same thing has been spreading like wildfire out here the past few weeks, and I was out two days last week myself. Just hammered me, a combo of flu and then a monster chest cold. At least a dozen people at my work also have the bad bronchitis, and it can be a puredee beyotch to get rid of.

Take it slow and best wishes for a smooth recovery. Smoke going up from California.

Regards,

Norm

Eric,

Get well soon!
Glad to know you gather enough energy to post here.
MRSA's no joke mang. Hope you recover quick!

Hey Eric,

Hope you feel better soon. I've had it too, it is nasty. Just getting back up to speed after 2 weeks.
I want to recommend neti, which is a form of nasal saline irragation. I'm a Yoga teacher, and this is an old Yoga cleansing practice. It's gentle, but very powerful. If you try it, buy a neti pot or better still, a neti bottle.
It didn't keep me from getting the flu this time, but there have been times when it warded off colds for sure. And it would probably help wash any MRSA or staph
out as well.
Namaste,

John

Smoke & prayers Eric.
I went to the doctor yesterday and was told I have a respiratory infection with 1 foot on pneumonia. When the county corner (yeah my primary physician is the corner) tells you that you listen. If I'd let it get a little further along it'd put me down for a few days.
I've had a few clients politely tell me "don't bring that crap into our office our computers will wait till you get better or at least not contagious"

Eric I'm adding my best wishes as well as Smoke and Song that things be fixed up in a good and gentle way for you.

If you do get a Netti-pot be sure to follow the directions carefully. If the strength of the saltwater is too strong for you and burns overly much you can back off its strength a bit until you get used to it.
IIRC the instructions call for distilled water and for good reason because when your sinuses are all inflamed and sore beyond belief the last thing you wanna do is pour a bunch of chlorinated salt water on them, believe me - I Know!!!
I've used some form of a Netti-Pot for several years now so I've grown used to the full strength salt water as well as regular old chlorinated tap water... Another thing is that you want the water warm but not so warm as to be uncomfortable, a good rule of thumb is to have the water at the same temperature that you would have a baby's bottle that you are getting ready to feed him or her with.
