Checking AXIS Springs

I looked all over, and have yet to find definitive information on this. How should I go about if I wish to check the springs on my AXIS-equipped Mini Griptillian, without dissassembly? Is there any way to verify that they are both intact?

I have no noticed any un-usual smoothness, but I just wish to know for reference, and to check to see that one of my springs is not already broken.
