Ok, here's the deal. A while back I contacted Chris about making a small edc knife for me. I do a lot of photography work in some interesting areas. I have some small, more "tactical" looking, production knives that I normally carry for these outings, but wanted to get away from the black coated blades and move to something with a little more class and perhaps a little more sheeple friendly...but still functional for my personal needs.
As it turns out, going for a wooden handle and a leather sheath was a bad move on my part. Chris absolutely nailed the profile, and the handle shape and contours are amazing. But I keep running into issues with the carry system. In order to get the retention I have to have for this knife and the discrete carry I have to have, kydex is my only realistic option. I feel like that using this knife in a kydex sheath, and subsequintly ruining the beautiful burl handle Chris made is a tragedy and travisty.
What I would like to do is sell this one, have the money sent straight to Chris, and have him re-make the same design with a synthetic rather than organic handle material. This knife has only whittled a few fuzz sticks and still looks the same as in these photos, because I have yet to come up with an idea for a carry system that suits my needs that wouldn't ruin the knife...so I just look at it a lot.
The cost is $160.00
There is one pic here below, but a lot more at this link.
