Hello all,

Haven't been here for some time, so I thought I might start hanging out here some more. I am a police officer/tactical operator assigned to a regional tactical team as a Team Sniper and Entry Team Member. Aside from firearms, I am also quite fond of sharp instruments. My newest acquisition is a custom by Steve Woods. (www.rockriveriron.com) Are you folks familiar with his work? It is called the "Hide Fighter", and features the "Snipers Up" logo from the forum I usually hang out on, www.snipershide.com. (My forum name there is fpdsniper) You can see a picture of my new knife here: http://www.snipershide.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=7;t=000953

As far as production folding knives, I really like the new CRKT Mytighe designs. I first checked them out at the shot show, and was very impressed. I am currently carrying a Camillus HEAT assisted opener that I also like a lot. I also have a few Benchmades, SOG, EK, Kershaw, and some others I'm probably forgetting. Anyhow, I will hang out around here some more to get caught up on the latest knives and such. I really got a kick out of the thread on Dark Ops knives. Hillarious. Anyhow, thanks and I look forward to getting caught up in the knife world.

Welcome Donnie. That Hide Fighter looks like a very well thought out design. I like how Steve brought full stock thickness almost to the tip. The lashing/cord holes really add versatility, and that is a very manageable size for a tactical/combat knife. Great score, and a great price too. I just read Steve's biography on his site, seems like a great guy.
Thanks for the introductions, hope you stick around!

Thanks JW. Steve has told me that he's going to design one with my companies logo on it. He is a top notch individual besides being an excellent Bladesmith. He made of these knives for my son stationed in Kuwait for FREE. No kidding. I have definitely gotten a bit "rusty" in the knife world, so I'm gonna read as much here as I have time to and try and get my knowledge base caught up. Thanks for the reply!

Greetings dprisp223!

Welcome back! I hope will feel at home here. Hopefully you won't leave us again. Where did you go? You said you were only going out to buy cigarettes!
Just messin with you.

Stay sharp!

Didn't leave and not intend to come back. Just too much into precision rifles, and spend most of my time on the 'hide. Gonna make a conscious effort to hang out here and get to know some of you guys now. Thanks for the welcomes!

Kershaw is coming out with a lot of new knives lately. You might be interested in their Zero Tolerance line, a design collaboration between Ken Onion and Strider. There are threads on them here and here.

Yeah, Zero Tolerance gave me a free T-Shirt at the Shot Show. I'll check on the links. Thanks!
